The Clearwater Festival in Croton Park

The Clearwater Festival will take place on Saturday and Sunday, June 16-17, 2018 at Croton Point Park in Croton-on-Hudson, Westchester County, NY.  This two-day festival will have over 40 artists performing along with a plethora of entertainment including singer/songwriters, bands, dancers and magicians. Activities for the whole family include the opportunity to sail the Sloop Clearwater and the Schooner Mystic Whaler; a children’s area, clearwater’s discovery & tideline education tents, jugglers, clowns, face painting, henna artistry and much more. Tickets are on sale now and the event is expected to draw close to 15,000 people.  The line up of artists will include:

Jeff Tweedy is an American songwriter, musician, and record producer best known as the singer and guitarist of the rock band Wilco. Jeff Tweedy released his first solo album “Together at Last” in June of last year.  His music along with many of the artists performing at the Clearwater Festival range from alternative country, alternative rock, folk and rock.

The Mavericks were founded more than 25 years ago by Malo and Deakin as a standout alternative band in a Miami rock scene and were noticed by super-producer Tony Brown in Nashville. They got signed to MCA Records and fused their unique sound into country music with their hit Dance the Night Away. They’ve been on tour for the last year following the release of their nineth solo album, Brand New Day, which is the band’s first studio album on their new Mono Mundo Recordings label.

They Might Be Giants is an American alternative rock band formed in 1982 by John Flansburgh and John Linnell. Their first album produced the “Don’t Let’s Start” a hit in the late 1980’s and the band grew a large following.  Since then, they have produced songs for television shows such The Daily Show and Malcolm in the Middle and broadening their scope with bestselling children’s albums (No!, Here Come the 123s) and  They Might Be Giants, will perform on Saturday, June 16th, a band your kids will enjoy.

Ani DiFranco is an American singer, multi-instrumentalist, poet, songwriter, and feminist icon. She has released more than 20 albums. DiFranco has received positive feedback from critics for much of her career and is on her RISE UP Tour.  Rhiannon Giddens, The Kennedys and many more are scheduled to perform at this two-day festival.

Clearwater’s Great Hudson River Revival (aka “the Clearwater Festival” or “Revival”) features seven sustainably powered stages with diverse music, dance, storytelling and family-oriented programming as well as a juried Handcrafters’ Village, the Green Living Expo, the Working Waterfront with small boat exhibits and rides, the Artisanal Food & Farm Market, environmental education displays and exhibits, and the Circle of Song where audience participation is the focus. The festival is wheelchair accessible and  stage programming is staffed with American Sign Language interpreters.
