This year the 4th of July falls on a Wednesday which means there are plenty of options for vacation time with family and friends and several places to see the fireworks and catch a great local band. Of course the complete list is on our website music calendar for all the various options next week. Here are a few highlights and our favorites:
The Town of Scarsdale presents annual fireworks display on Monday, July 2nd at 9:15 PM at the Scarsdale Pool Complex. Returning to the spectacular will be a performance by the Westchester Band at 7:30 PM. A $2.00 fee will be charged to all non-pool members entering the pool starting at 5:00 PM and at 8:00 PM, ALL individuals entering the pool complex will be charged $2.00. *Alcoholic beverages and glass containers are strictly prohibited.

However, we prefer to watch the fireworks from The Saxon Woods Grill, which is next to the pool complex. Buffet BBQ for $25 and live music by House Arrest from 7:00-11:00 PM ($10 for band only). The band will break for the fireworks display, which you can see on the golf course. We suggest bringing a blanket or a chair for both locations.

Cross County Fireworks & Concert Celebration
Celebrate Independence Day at the Cross County Shopping Center on Tuesday, July 3rd with the FDR Drive Band to perform a concert from 7:00-9:30 PM. with a spectacular fireworks show to follow. The free concert will take place at the center of the mall on The Green. Bring your dancing shoes, chairs and blankets. The fireworks display will be in the north parking lot, but you will be able to view them from anywhere in the mall.

Kensico Dam Music Fest and Fireworks
Celebrate Independence Day at the Kensico Dam Plaza in Valhalla on Tuesday, July 3rd. Pre-concert entertainment begins at 5 p.m. with a guest DJ Johnny Rocks at 6 PM. and the Gerard Carelli Orchestra performs at 8 p.m.; fireworks will follow at about 9:15 p.m. Admission and parking are free. Carpooling is suggested. Concert-goers should bring chairs or blankets, as well as, a picnic.

Rye Playland Fireworks
On Tuesday, July 3rd and Wednesday, July 4th expect spectacular fireworks and patriotic music. Spend your Fourth of July weekend at Playland Park with tons of games, rides, and food for your enjoyment. On Tuesday, July 3rd enjoy live music from Epic Soul at the Pier Restaurant & Tiki Bar. Playland will have fireworks displays at 9:15 PM every Friday night from July 6th until August 31st.

Village of Mamaroneck Fire Department’s Carnival & Summer Nights on the Sound
On Friday, June 29 through Saturday, July 7th, join the Mamaroneck Fire Department for their annual carnival. The carnival opens at 6:45 PM at Harbor Island Park in Mamaroneck. The fire department will additionally hold their Independence Day parade on Monday, July 2nd at 7 PM from Mamaroneck Avenue School to Harbor Island Park. The carnival will open early at 4 PM on July 4th, leading up to a fireworks display will take place over the Long Island Sound at approximately 8:30 PM. The 4th of July Fireworks & Celebration on Wednesday, Jul 4, 2018, 8 – 10 PM with The Soundettes performing the “Star Spangled Banner” along with St. Thomas Orchestra. This kicks off the Mamaroneck’s Summer Nights on the Sound Concert Series which continues every Sunday in July.

White Plains Independence Day Celebration
The annual fireworks in White Plains will take place at the White Plains High School. A fun-filled evening of entertainment, giant inflatable rides, food and fireworks on Tuesday, July 3rd from 6:00-9:30 PM
